Holy Week Special

As we all know, Holy Week also known as the Passion Week, which is a significant time in the Christian faith, commemorating the events leading up to Jesus Christ's crucifixion and resurrection. This week offers a time for us believers to renew our faith, seek forgiveness, and reflect on the sacrifice that Jesus made for us. Us Filipinos usually spend the Holy Week or Semana Santa with our families. That's why aside from being a time for reflection and penance, it is also an opportunity to create memories, strengthen family bonds, and pass on traditions.

The feeling of experiencing the holy week as it was used before the pandemic is unreal. Why? I do not know…? Maybe because this year's holy week is very different from other holy weeks I've experienced and I think my holy week experience is different from other students like me. If other students are just at home, resting and going to church with their families. As for me, the happenings in my semana santa were not like that. My grandmother took me to her job which was a bakery to work there during the holy week. It's our tradition that every holy week we work at my grandmother's workplace, because they need quite a lot of workers, specifically bakers because it's holy week and many customers want to buy delicacies. And that's how my holy week went, I wasn't able to rest in holy week as how the others did because I worked too, but the experience it gave me... it was worth it.

In conclusion, this holy week is one of the events that I might not forget for this year. Moreover, this holy week is for introspection, somber reflection, and happy celebration. The hope and redemption that Jesus provides to everyone who believes in Him are recalled when Christians from all over the world assemble to remember the events of Holy Week.
